The Grimm’s Fairy Tales is arguably one of the most famous collection of German tales in the world. It was first published in 1812 by the Grimm brothers Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm. The collection was originally titled “Children’s and Household Tales” but is more commonly known as Grimm’s fairy tales.
The Brothers Grimm were born in Hanau, Germany. Jacob was born on the 4th of January 1785 and Wilhelm – on the 24th of February 1786. From early youth, until their death, the brothers were very close friends, always complementing each other.
They are the stuff of dreams, of nightmares, of bedtime stories, of movies, of countless television shows. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm wrote down the tales they had heard throughout their lives – tales informed by the deep, dark forests and harsh conditions of their native Germany.
